The Buechner Institute: You Can Help

This new endeavor offers the opportunity to express appreciation for Frederick Buechner’s vital work while bringing King College even further into the national conversation on faith, art and culture. We welcome your individual vision for this project, as well as your financial support.

Our vision for the Buechner Institute includes a fund for the eventual building of a center which will include a library and classroom space—a place to carry on the work.  Furthermore, our programming schedule will require significant funding as we invite noteworthy voices in the national conversation on faith and culture to our region.  Finally, the work of the Appalachian Extension requires some supplemental funding.

To these ends, we have assembled a financial prospectus that outlines the endowment that we are establishing for programming expenses and the fund that we will need for construction.  You may request a prospectus by emailing buechnerinstitute@king.edu or by writing to the address indicated on the web site.

Our donations so far have ranged from a few dollars to many thousands of dollars.  And we are grateful for them all.
You may want to help by sending along the names of artists you think would add to the level of our conversation.  Perhaps you want to send books relating to the subject of faith and culture that we can add to our library.  Maybe you would like to establish a lectureship or contribute to the fees of a particular speaker.  Whatever your desire, we welcome your ideas, your involvement, and your help.

For further information, or to discuss your participation, contact Dale Brown at buechnerinstitute@king.edu.
